Highfield Cemetery, Highfield Avenue, Bredbury, SK6 3BZ

 

 Opened in 1929, Highfield Cemetery has a rural aspect overlooking the Goyt Valley, with many mature trees and shrubs. The cemetery has benefited in recent years from the installation of new gates and fences and many new benches providing opportunities for peaceful reflection. A new woodland burial facility offers the opportunity for burials in a more natural setting for those who want an environmentally friendly funeral that will eventually help to extend an existing old woodland.

Local Councillors and volunteers have helped to install woodland walks and FOSC have planted large numbers of flowering bulbs and refurbished the ashes Columbarium with the help of external funding.

 

Proposed future improvements include the construction of a memorial garden for cremated remains and additional memorialisation opportunities.

 

New graves are still available at Highfield Cemetery.

 

Please note there are no public toilet facilities at this cemetery.

 

The cemetery grounds are open every day including Bank Holidays until dusk.
