Mill Lane Cemetery,  Manchester Road,  Cheadle  SK8 2PX

 

Opened in 1993, Mill Lane is Stockport ’s newest cemetery and its modern layout and appearance is emphasised by its long sweeping lawns and desk type memorials, interspersed with small copses of decorative trees.  The cemetery has recently benefited from the addition of several new burial sections and a large-scale memorial bench installation and refurbishment programme.  

The cemetery can accommodate burials for a range of faith groups including Christian, Jewish, Muslim and those of no particular faith.  The cemetery also has sections specifically for the interment of cremated remains.

 

Proposed improvements include the provision of woodland paths around the perimeter of the cemetery and projects to improve wildlife habitats.  

 

New graves are still available at MillLaneCemetery .  

 

Please note there are public toilet facilities available at this cemetery during Monday to Friday but the toilet may be locked at weekends and Bank Holidays.  

 

The cemetery grounds are open every day including Bank Holidays until dusk.
